The daughter of a woman who was kidnapped in Mexico in February is pleading for help from President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.Maria del Carmen Lopez, 63, was kidnapped from her residence in Pueblo Nuevo, Colima on Feb. 9, the FBI said in a March news release. Reward offered for information in kidnapping of U.S. citizen in Mexico The mother of seven and grandmother of 19 is a dual citizen who has ties to Los Angeles and Riverside counties. A large, orange-toothed rodent is invading California.The rodents are called nutria, which are large, semi-aquatic creatures that feed on plants that hold wetland soil together, according to the United States Department of Agriculture. Federal officials said the nutria consume weeds and overabundant vegetation. They also destroy native aquatic vegetation, crops and wetland areas. Nutria can grow to more than 20 pounds and destroy wetlands by eating up to 25% of their body weight each day, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. 40-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near East Warren AvenueOILDALE, CA (June 7, 2023) – Saturday evening, one man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Chester Avenue.Police responded to the scene around 9:25 p.m., near East Warren Avenue on May 27th.According to reports, a man was walking outside of a marked crosswalk on the northbound side of Chester Avenue. Investigators say he waked directly into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet SUV.The SUV driver was unable to stop in time and consequently struck the pedestrian.
